  Location: Railroad Conference Room
4:00 p.m. BUYER BEHAVIOR: THE BIG BANG THEORY
Plan Sponsors’ fiduciary responsibility fuels price pressure on service providers. To remain sustainable, companies are challenged to keep existing relationships profitable and to drive additional revenue from sales of services to the plan, to the plan sponsor, to plan advisors, and to plan participants. Relationships with decision makers and their advisors evolve as the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (CAA) and the Transparency in Coverage Final Rule (TiC) require group health plan fiduciaries to evaluate the “reasonableness” of fees charged by consultants and brokers based on required disclosures of direct and indirect compensation. This session will consist of a robust discussion of the impact of these changes on the buying behavior of the C-Suite.

9:00 a.m. LET’S PUT OUR HEADS TOGETHER: HYBRID POSITIONS
Working from home has become ubiquitous in and outside the retirement plans sector. As more Account Managers and more Plan Decision Makers work from home, the ability and necessity to meet in person or to travel for plan service and participant experience is reduced. Client preferences shift and more mid-sized and large plan sponsors choose service models with a single dedicated hybrid contact person for all their needs. The rise of the hybrid Client Relationship – Account Manager, who also consults on the participant experience affects team organization, management, metrics, recruiting, retention, sales, revenue growth, and outcomes. And, other hybrid roles are starting to surface –Communication Consultants/ Relationship Mangers and even Communication Consultants/Account Managers. This inter-disciplinary discussion will seek to identify practices that lead to greater success for hybrid teams.
Moderator: Eric Henon and Mary Kay Leydon
  Location: Railroad Conference Room
10:15 a.m. Break
10:30  a.m. IT TAKES SECURE 2.0 TO TANGO
On the one hand, the systematic adoption of automatic enrollment, the advent of emergency distributions, the more widespread adoption of Roth contributions, and the potential popularity of student loan repayment matching programs will affect complexity and (lack of) focus of the participant experience. On the other hand, many optional features of SECURE 2.0 will be available for accommodation at best. Some less popular options that require additional guidance from the Department of Labor, hard-to-build systems upgrades and labor-intensive exception processing may not be available for some time. Managing advisor, TPA, and client expectations regarding the availability of these options leaves us in a quandary: What to say? What not to say? How transparent should account managers Balancing client retention, revenue growth needs, cost, and profitability targets.
  Moderator: TBA

But how can we improve our memory skills? Matthew Goerke is the creator of the Memory Switch Program. It this session, he will share the new advances in memory technology and engage attendees on how these methods are in powerful tools to help people achieve both business and personal goals.
